Unique in France, ISTHY will carry out tests and certifications of hydrogen tanks and storage systems, independently and with impartiality for French and international manufacturers, equipment manufacturers and industrials, particularly for the automotive sector. Located in the Territory of Belfort, in Bourgogne Franche Comté, on five hectares, the secured cells will ensure gas, pressure, hydraulic and mechanical tests, for stationary, on-board and transported storage devices, up to 20kg of hydrogen per tank . ISTHY center aims to be collaborative and plan to put its equipment, its industrial knowledge and its expertise at the service of public or private research organizations, and will provide a wide range of training. ISTHY testing and certification center, runs by the REI Group, has received some support from the French governement, the Bourgogne Franche-Comté Region and local fundings.

The SHARPAC team pursues and develops its research in the fields of electric vehicles and renewable energy, with a specific focus on hydrogen-energy. It is particularly involved in FCLAB and in the French national federation on hydrogen energy FRH2 (CNRS). The scientific topics concern the increase of energy efficiency and durability of hydrogen-based systems. For the Mat’éco team, focus is on the study and development of materials and structures subjected to complex loads in aggressive environments. This is also, and above all, the case of hydrogen interactions in all materials used for storage in this energy carrier.
